In the new contract (now in effect) the union has negotiated a change in the provision that affords certain faculty and librarians promotion to the next higher academic rank when granted tenure.

The new provision significantly increases the number of junior faculty and librarians who are now eligible for this benefit.  The union has posted an advisory on the new provision.
