Most State Universities to Start Spring 2022 Semester Remotely

January 7, 2022

Dear MSCA Librarians and Faculty,

Last week two state universities presidents made the decision to start the Spring 2022 semester remotely. Earlier this week a third made the same decision, and today four more decided to start remotely. Below is what we know today; this is subject to change. We assume faculty and librarians have been or will be notified and that the details of how remote instruction will be handled will be explained. If not, you should ask Academic Affairs.

Bridgewater State University will be remote from January 19 -21, and in-person classes will resume January 24.

Fitchburg State University will be remote from January 18 -21, and in-person classes will resume January 24.

Framingham State University will be remote from January 18 -21, and in-person classes will resume January 24.

Massachusetts College of Art and Design will be remote from January 19 -25, and in-person classes will resume January 26.

Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts will be remote from January 19 -21, and in-person classes will resume January 24.

Massachusetts Maritime Academy will NOT be remote, in-person Winter 2022 classes will meet as scheduled starting January 10.

Salem State University will be remote from January 18 -28, and in-person classes will resume January 31.

Westfield State University will be remote from January 18 -21, and in-person classes will resume January 24.
