MTA’s Early Career Educators Conference

Dear MSCA Members,

MTA will be holding its annual Early Career Educators Conference (ECEC) virtually on Saturday, November 14th from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. The ECEC is designed for Pre-K thru 12 teachers, paraprofessionals and higher education professionals in their first five years of employment, and presents early career educators with the perfect opportunity to meet with fellow educators and to learn how to strengthen their skills. Given current events and the challenges of remote teaching as a result of the pandemic, the MTA New Member Committee has designed a program to support educators through the current challenges.

If you are a member within the first five years of your hire date, we encourage you to register for the conference and to participate in the workshops in one of the three tracks: (1) Racial Justice, (2) Self-Care, (3) Technology in the Classroom. On the day of the conference, participants will choose three (of the 10) 45-minute sessions, which include workshops on technology, racial justice and self-care.  You can view a full description of these sessions, and register for the conference, at:  https://bit.ly/35JZhe4.

Please note that the last session is a Panel Discussion with Higher Education Educators, where participants can ask questions of our two wonderful panelists:  Joanna DelMonaco, Middlesex Community College and Jenna Mendell, Bridgewater State University.  The conference is free for MTA and SEAM members.

For more information please see the attached conference poster.  We hope to see you at the Early Career Educators Conference (ECEC) on November 14th.

Wishing you all the best.
