Below is general ballot-count information for the 2022 MSCA Officers Election. Details (including write-in vote information for the Office of President, Office of Vice President, Office of Secretary, and Office of Treasurer) can be viewed in the Survey and Ballot Systems election report.

According to Article IV, Section 2[a] of the MSCA Constitution, November 1, 2021 is the date after which interested parties may secure nomination papers for any MSCA Office. Requests for nomination papers should be submitted to the MSCA Nominations and Elections Supervisor stating the Office to be sought; the MSCA Nominations and Elections Supervisor [Supervisor] is the Chair of the MSCA Elections Committee. This year, the Supervisor is Sarah Mabrouk, Professor of Mathematics at Framingham State University.

Candidate Forums
Below is a list of the MSCA-wide candidate forums with their respective date and time. These forums will be conducted via Zoom and Sarah Pilkenton, Forum Coordinator and Professor of Chemistry and Food Science at Framingham State University, will serve as moderator for each forum.
Note: Members must sign up 48 hours in-advance in order to attend each forum and may submit up to three (3) questions for consideration to be asked during the forum.

Attendees are asked to adhere to the following rules during the candidate forums:
The forum coordinator reserves the right to eject any attendee violating these policies.

Duties of the MSCA Officers, last revised by the MSCA Board of Directors on November 2, 2007:

Requesting Nomination Papers:
Per Article IV, Section 2[a] of the MSCA Constitution, “an eligible member shall be required to obtain nomination papers by a request to the MSCA Nominations & Elections Supervisor stating the Office to be sought. The Nominations & Elections Supervisor shall enter the name of the eligible member and the Office to be sought on the nomination papers and deliver them to the eligible member within two weeks. No person shall be a candidate for more than one office.”
Requests for nomination papers shall include the following:
(i) the name of the candidate as it should appear on the ballot,
(ii) the Office to be sought,
(iii) the email address to which a file containing nomination papers should be sent, and
(iv) the MSCA Chapter for which the candidate is a member.
Submitting Nomination Papers:
Per the 2022 MSCA Election Calendar approved by the MSCA Board of Directors on June 4, 2021, candidates must file nomination papers by January 21, 2022, and per Article IV, Section 2[b] of the MSCA Constitution, the signatures must be sent to the Nominations and Elections Supervisor so that they are “received prior to 5:00 PM on this date”. In addition, per Article IV, Section 2[b] of the MSCA Constitution, “in order to be certified as a candidate for Office, an eligible member shall be required to obtain at least forty signatures of members in good standing; no more than fifteen shall be counted from a single Chapter.”
