2017 MTA Annual Meeting

This year’s MTA Annual Meeting will be held Friday and Saturday, May 19-20 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston.

If you are interested in running for a seat please contact the chapter president at the chapter through which you pay your MSCA dues.  If you are not sure which university that is, email the MSCA Treasurer’s office at M1beatty@bridgew.edu or call at 508-531-2793.

The MSCA has been allocated 57 seats based on our membership numbers.  The MSCA Board of Directors has approved the following chapter allocations based on chapter membership numbers and in accordance with the procedure established by MTA:

Bridgewater – 12
Fitchburg – 6
Framingham – 6
MassArt – 4
MCLA – 2
Mass Maritime – 2
Salem – 12
Westfield – 7
Worcester – 6

The MSCA Board of Directors will be voting on proposed election procedures for the election of MSCA delegates and alternates that comply with the MTA rules at its Board meeting on April 7, 2017.

The MSCA Board of Directors will also be voting on a proposed reimbursement policy at its Board meeting on April 7, 2017.

Delegates are responsible for making their own hotel reservations and paying for their room up front.  The Boston Marriott Copley Place is the convention hotel. The hotel has a covered walkway to the Hynes Convention Center.

You are not required to stay at the Boston Marriott Copley Place, but again, the MSCA will not reimburse more than the Boston Marriott Copley Place rate ($330.76, with all taxes included).

Delegates and alternates are strongly encourage to attend a regional pre-convention meeting to learn about issues that will be discussed and voted on at the meeting.
