The meeting was called to order by Paul McGee, the President, at 1:42 p.m. in the Martin Luther King Room.

1. Approval of Minutes
It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes of 25 February 2002, 01-02:6 The motion carried.

2. President’s Report
-Mary Buckley thanks the committee for its evaluation and raise in pay.
-April 2 will be Advocacy Day. The Presidents will go to Boston. U MA Amherst will have a presence. Since state workers are not allowed to lobby, faculty presence should be small.
-On Friday the Acting Academic Vice-President announced that we are looking at a $4.3 million cut next fiscal year.
-The search for a new Academic Vice-President has been called off by President Harrington.

3. It was moved and seconded to approve the Proposed Revisions to the Constitution and Bylaws, 2002, of the Massachusetts State College Association, Salem Chapter. The motion carried.

4. The Treasurer distributed the March Treasurer’s reports for the last five years. Her conclusion from this survey is that we do not overspend, but that we have a lack of income. We are again reminded that we have had no dues raise in 12 years. In addition, next year there will be fewer dues paying members to contribute to the cost of running the chapter.
