1. Meeting Called to Order
The meeting was called to order at 2:30 pm in HB104 South Campus.
2. Approval of the Minutes
It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes of the December 11, 2006, meeting.
The motion passed.
3. President's Report - Amy Everitt
DGCE Ratification:
The DGCE Ratification vote will take place on January 31, 2007, at the MSCA
office in the Sullivan Building.
Executive Committee/Chapter Meetings - 2007
President Everitt distributed the schedule of meetings for Spring 2007. They
are as follows:
Executive Committee Meeting, Monday, February 26th, 11:00 am - 12:30 pm, Presidential Room, Ellison Center
Executive Committee Meeting, Wednesday, March 28th, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Heritage Room, Ellison Center
Chapter Meeting, Monday April 30th, 11:00 am - 12:30 pm, MLK Room, Ellison Center; immediately following Chapter Meeting is: Executive Committee Meeting, 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm, Heritage Room, Ellison Center.
Day Bargaining:
Management has not yet formed a bargaining team and the BHE does not have a
chair at this time. It is assumed that Day Bargaining will begin in March, 2007.
Committee Appointments:
It was moved and seconded that the MSCA Salem Chapter not cooperate in the staffing
of the Advisory Committee to Review Core Curriculum. The motion failed.

As requested, it is noted that Executive Committee member, Jay McHale, refused to participate in the process to staff the Advisory Committee to Review Core Curriculum.
Treasurer's Report - Paul McGee
Treasurer McGee presented his report.
It was requested by Treasurer McGee that the Executive Committee investigate
a salary increase for the MSCA Salem Chapter office secretary. In addition,
Treasurer McGee stated the increase in local dues substantially helped the Chapter's
treasury.
Grievance Report - Maggie Vaughan
In the absence of Chair Maggie Vaughan, President Everitt presented the report.
Discussion followed.
New Business
In January the college incorrectly sent acceptance letters to 40 students who
were actually not admitted to the college. Discussion followed.
Executive Committee member, Beverly White, informed the Committee of the challenges the School of Nursing faces regarding faculty recruitment. Discussion followed.
