Directions to Use the Pay Raise Spreadsheet

Full-time unit members who were in the unit on January 1, 2001, and plan to remain in the unit until October 1, 2002, can use the Pay Raise Spreadsheet to calculate their expected pay increase over the term of the contract. The Spreadsheet does not take into account promotions effective on or after September 1, 2001, nor does it project merit bonuses for members effective September 30, 2001 or October 1, 2002.

Please consult Article XIIIA of the contract for specific definitions of the factors used in the Minimum Salary Formula (below). All such information is subject to verification and all projections calculated through use of this Spreadsheet are approximate. Some raises are contingent upon "satisfactory performance" by the unit member under Article VIII, Section O, of the current Agreement.

To use the Pay Raise Spreadsheet, you must enter the five following pieces of information in the appropriate cell shaded in blue:

Academic Rank: Enter your academic rank as of December 30, 2000, exactly as follows:

Professor: Professor
Senior Librarian: Senior Lib
Associate Professor: Associate
Librarian: Librarian
Assistant Professor: Assistant
Associate Librarian: Assoc Lib

Members who hold an academic rank not listed above should leave the cell blank.

Years of Full-Time Teaching Experience: As of December 30, 2000, add up all of your years of full-time college/university teaching experience, including those full-time years prior to hire at both four-year and two- year institutions and, for education professors, full-time years of K-12 teaching prior to hire, as well as your full-time state college service from your date of hire to December 30, 2000. A semester is equal to 0.5 years of experience. Librarians should use the total number of years of full-time professional experience prior to hire as well as state college service. Enter the total number of years in this cell.

Terminal Degree: Enter Yes if you held a terminal degree or its contractual Equivalent on December 30, 2000. Leave the cell blank if you do not.

Years of Full-Time Professional Experience: Enter the number of years of appropriate full-time professional experience you had prior to your date of hire in the state college system.

Annual Salary on December 30, 2000: Enter your annual salary as it was on December 30, 2000. You can calculate this by multiplying by 26 the Gross Pay from your pay Advice for any of the following dates: February 16, 2001, March 2, 2001, March 16, 2001, March 30, 2001, April 13, 2001, April 27, 2001, or May 11, 2001. You should not use the Gross Pay for any other period.
