SEQUENCES OF INCREASES AND BONUSES: MARCH 26, 2001
APPENDIX TO THE TENTATIVE AGREEMENT

Increases are compounded in the order listed.

DECEMBER 30, 2000:

1. Review salaries of FT unit members, and increase as needed to bring them up to the Article XIII- A minimum formula as increased January 1, 2000.

2. Apply in-rank adjustments, and increase the rank amounts in Article XIII-A by the in-rank adjustments. In-rank adjustments shall be: Professor/Senior Librarian $ 2,000 Associate Professor/Librarian 1,200 Assistant Professor/Associate Librarian 500

3. Increase all FT1 salaries by 3%, PT by 5%.

4. Increase by a 1% “equity” adjustment the salaries of all FT unit members who meet criteria set forth in the Comprehensive Tentative Agreement.

5. Increase by a 2% step equivalent the salaries of all FT unit members who have been rated satisfactory in accordance with Article VIII, Section O.

6. Increase by a 2% campus “equity” adjustment the salaries of all FT unit members who meet criteria set forth in the Comprehensive Tentative Agreement.

7. Calculate the signing bonuses for PTR and campus “merit” bonuses based on salaries after the increases in #1- #6, and pay signing and “merit” bonuses.

8. Increase all FT salary figures2 in CBA by 8%, PT by 5%.

June 24, 2001: Increase part-time compensation rates in Article XIII by 5%.

August 26, 2001:

1. Identify all unit members who have promotions and/or terminal degrees with salary increases effective September 1, 2001. Include any earlier omissions.

2. Apply terminal degree increases of $2,226 (i.e., $2,061 x 1.08) to salaries of unit members who earned terminal degrees in the relevant period.

3. Apply promotion increases of $2,160, (2,000 x 1.08) for promotion to assistant librarian, $2,970 ( 2750 x 1.08) for promotion to assistant professor or associate librarian, $3,294 (3,050 x 1.08) for promotion to associate professor or librarian, $3,672 (3,400 x 1.08) for promotion to professor or senior librarian, or 5% of salary after any terminal degree increase in #2, whichever is greater, to salaries of unit members who were promoted in the relevant period.

4. Review salaries after promotion increases, and increase as needed to bring them up to minimum formula as increased December 30, 2000.

September 30, 2001:

1. Review salaries of FT unit members who request a review and who demonstrate the likelihood that they are below the Article XIII-A minimum formula. Increase their salaries by the amounts needed to bring them up to the Article XIII-A minimum formula as increased on December 30, 2000, except if to do so would nullify a sanction under post-tenure review.

2. Increase all FT salaries by 3%.

3. Increase by a .75% step equivalent the salaries of all FT unit members who have been rated satisfactory in accordance with Article VIII, Section O.

4. Calculate bonus pool on 01/AA unit payroll after increasing salaries according to #1-#3, and pay merit bonuses.

5. Increase all FT salary figures in CBA by 3.75%.

June 30, 2002: Increase part-time compensation rates in Article XIII by 5%.

August 25, 2002:

1. Identify all unit members who have promotions and/or terminal degrees with salary increases effective September 1, 2002. Include any earlier omissions.

2. Apply terminal degree increases of $ 2,309 (i.e., $2,226 x 1.0375) to unit members who earned terminal degrees in the relevant period.

3. Apply promotion increases of $2,241 (2,160 x 1.0375) for promotion to assistant librarian, $3,081 (2,970 x 1.0375) for promotion to assistant professor or associate librarian, $3,418 (3,294x 1.0375) for promotion to associate professor or librarian, $3,810 (3,672 x 1.0375) for promotion to professor or senior librarian, or 5% of salary after any terminal degree increase in #2, whichever is greater, to salaries of unit members who were promoted in the relevant period.

4. Review salaries after promotion and increase as needed to bring them up to the Article XIII-A minimum formula as increased on September 30, 2001.

October 1, 2002:

1. Review salaries of FT unit members who request a review and who demonstrate the likelihood that they are below the Article XIII-A minimum formula. Increase their salaries by the amounts needed to bring them up to the Article XIII-A minimum formula as increased on September 30, 2001, except if to do so would nullify a sanction under post-tenure review.

2. Increase all FT salaries by 2.5%.

3. Increase by a .75% step equivalent the salaries of all FT unit members who have been rated satisfactory in accordance with Article VIII, Section O.

4. Calculate bonus pool on 01/AA unit payrolls after increasing salaries according to #1 - #3, and pay “merit” bonuses.

5. Increase all salary FT salary figures in CBA by 3.25%.
