Subject: Broadcast of Ways and Means Hearing at BSC
Date: Fri, 7 Mar 2003

Webmaster's note: the video of the webcast is now available through the Bridgewater State College site (3/12/03).

We have now completed arrangements for Internet broadcast of Monday's Ways and Means hearing at Bridgewater State College. We expect to be able to broadcast to about 100 simultaneous viewers. If a viewer attempts to connect to the broadcast after we have reached the maximum supportable number of viewers, he or she will be unable to connect until someone else disconnects from the broadcast.

Because of this limitation, we will also record the hearing for "on-demand" Internet viewing following the event. The recorded version will be available on the Internet very shortly after the event. Through the on-demand version, anyone on the Internet may view all or part of the hearing at their convenience following the hearing.

Both the live hearing and on-demand re-broadcast will be accessible on Bridgewater State College's web site at:

www.bridgew.edu

You will find the link to the broadcast in the "Events" section toward the top right corner of this web page. Software for viewing the broadcast is also available at this link.

Please note that the quality of the broadcast will be better on computers with faster network connections: a computer that is directly connected to the network at any of our campuses will offer a relatively good viewing experience; a dial-up connection will be poorer.

Please feel free to contact me or Pat Cronin if you have additional questions about the hearing broadcast. With you, we look forward both to the hearing and to this experiment in sharing the discussion live to our colleagues across the system.

Regards,

- Bill
