Boston Labor Day Breakfast
Monday, Sept. 2, 2002
9:00 - 11:00 a.m. (Picket from 8:00 - 9:15 a.m.)
Park Plaza Hotel

There are a number of activities that will be occurring on Labor Day related to our contract crisis. One of those that may be more convenient for Boston and Boston-area residents is the annual Labor Day Breakfast, sponsored by the Greater Boston Labor Council, AFL-CIO.

This is an important event where we need a presence!!!

Please get the word out to your members and ask them to give a few hours on Monday morning to come and hold a sign as the Breakfast guests arrive.

As a Labor sponsored event, our picket will be "friendly". We will gather to hold the signs we had made as the guests arrive (we should have them by Thursday). MTA has a table at the Breakfast and we are developing a flyer that our attendees will place at each chair at the Breakfast about the contract crisis we face.

We will be gathering at 8:00 a.m. at the Park Plaza Hotel, the entrance at the corner of Arlington and Stuart Streets (across from the Park Plaza Castle and Renaissance Charter School).

I will be positioned in the little park across the street from that Park Plaza Hotel entrance by 7:30 a.m. with the signs.

PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR MEMBERS TO ATTEND. WE NEED A GOOD PRESENCE AT THIS EVENT - THERE SHOULD BE A NUMBER OF LEGISLATORS THERE.

Please email me (RWhalen@massteacher.org) or have those willing to attend email me by Friday, August 30, 2002, so that I will have a sense of the number of people attending so I bring enough signs.
