Today the MSCA Board of Directors authorized a return to bargaining.
This was neither an easy nor unanimous decision. We are in a time sensitive position, and we believe this is the clearest path for us to obtain our raises and the benefits that were mutually agreed to.
We realize that we will be negotiating with an untrustworthy management team and a Council of Presidents that has delayed and obfuscated the process. This is why we have determined to ask your bargaining team to consider open bargaining, so members can attend bargaining sessions and receive updates.
Returning to bargaining does not mean remaining quiet. Bargaining has been difficult, and our successes have been because you have been active and our campuses have been unified.
