Dear MSCA Faculty and Librarians:
This morning I received the email below from Peter Tsaffaras of the Board of Higher Education, which contains the deadlines for the enactment of the 7/1/07 pay increases and the payments of retroactive monies owed to unit members. I do not expect these deadlines to change, but if they do, I will notify you as soon as possible.
We are working on a spreadsheet that will allow members to check the accuracy of these pay increases and retroactive payments. We expect to have it completed no later than the implementation dates given below.
On behalf of the MSCA membership, I thank Mr. Tsaffaras and the payroll officers on the state college campuses for their work in the prompt execution of these pay increases and retroactive payments.

I would like to thank you [Arthur Pippo of the MTA] for forwarding over to me a fully executed copy of the deficiency budget (Chapter 228 of the Acts of 2007) which, among other items, contains funding for the one year Agreement with the Massachusetts State College Association (MSCA) (for the period of July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008).
As I noted during our telephone conversation regarding enactment of the deficiency budget, Katherine Piraino and I have been working together for some time to ensure accurate and expeditious payment of the funding now formally authorized by Governor Patrick. It is our intent to utilize HR/CMS to automate the processing of as much of this funding as possible.
At present the rollout schedule of these payments is as follows:
On the payroll distribution date of Friday, January 25, 2008 (Pay Period January 6, 2008 to January 19, 2008) Unit members will be placed at their correct bi-weekly salary This will include the 3.5% ATB increase and the longevity adjustment On the payroll distribution date of Friday, February 8, 2008 (Pay Period January 20, 2008 to February 2, 2008) Unit members will receive the retroactive payment of the 3.5% ATB increase from July 1, 2007 through January 5, 2008 (All eligible wages except longevity) On the payroll distribution date of Friday, February 22, 2008 (Pay Period February 3, 2008 to February 16, 2008) Unit members will receive the retroactive payment of the longevity adjustment from July 1, 2007 through January 5, 2008 (Longevity only)
