Dear MSCA Faculty and Librarians:

I am pleased to report that Governor Patrick has signed the supplemental budget bill, which contains the funding for our contract, into law. This bill provides for retroactive pay increases and monies for all MSCA faculty and librarians who were employed as of July 1, 2007. In addition, part-time faculty will receive a retroactive pay increase for any day unit courses taught during the fall 2007 semester as well as increased stipends for day unit courses taught this spring semester. Please see the August 27, 2007 memorandum of agreement, posted on this site, for details.

Now is the time to send a note or email of thanks to your state representative and senator for their support of our contract funding. Appreciation to Governor Patrick, whose administration filed the contract funding requests faster than any previous administration in memory, can also be given.

It should take about six to eight weeks for the pay increases to take effect and for the retroactive monies to be paid. As we receive definite information along these lines, we will share it with you.
