Dear MSCA Faculty and Librarians:

Thank you for your patience in waiting for information about the status of the MSCA contract funding. As you know, I have tried to report only information that has been confirmed or is verified.

On Tuesday, October 11th, two state college presidents announced at public meetings with faculty members that the MSCA contract funding request would be filed with the legislature this week. This information was reported to the college presidents at their monthly meeting last Friday, October 7th, by Chancellor Gill.

I emailed Chancellor Gill last night and asked her to confirm or deny this information. I received this response from her a few minutes ago:

"The Governor's staff has indicated that the message [request for the contract funding] should be sent to the legislature within the next two weeks."

If the legislation for funding the MSCA contract is not filed by the end of business tomorrow, the MSCA Board of Directors will hold an emergency meeting on Friday morning at the MTA-Auburn offices to discuss actions to take in respond to this development. We will keep you informed.
