Join Your Colleagues at Framingham State To Protest the Employer's Failure to Negotiate a Fair Economic Package or to Advocate on our Behalf!

On Tuesday, June 15th, the Board of Higher Education will hold its next meeting at Framingham State College. June 15th is exactly 351 days after the expiration date of our collective bargaining agreement with the Board and 624 days since our last comprehensive pay increase.

The Board's representatives have seen the MSCA study showing that the average salary for state college faculty is $6500 less than the average salary, adjusted for cost-of-living, for faculty at peer institutions. Meanwhile, state revenues are so far in excess of projections that the Governor has called for a tax cut!

On June 7th, we received the employer's proposal for a three-year contract. A summary of its most onerous provisions -- and there are plenty from which to choose -- is being prepared. Suffice it to say that the Governor's anti-union, anti-public higher education philosophy is reflected throughout.

We cannot afford another year of a zero pay increase. The Board of Higher Education needs to hear from MSCA members that the conditions at the bargaining table are unacceptable!
