Dear Colleagues:

On behalf of the MSCA, I want to thank those faculty and librarians from eight different state colleges who turned out for our demonstration at the Board of Higher Education meeting on April 20th at Fitchburg State College. A copy of my remarks to the Board can be found on this website. Newspaper articles about the demonstration appeared in the Boston Herald, the Springfield Republican, and the Worcester Telegram and Gazette. We expect additional coverage in the Fitchburg Sentinel and Enterprise and the Boston Globe.

The MSCA Bargaining Committee meets again tomorrow with representatives of the employer, plus mediator John Hanson, at Framingham State College. We will continue to keep you informed about the situation in negotiations.

The April issue of the MSCA Perspective should be distributed on campuses this week. The 2004 MSCA Delegate Assembly will be held Saturday, May 1st, beginning at 10:00 am at the School of Business, Central Campus, Salem State College. The Assembly is open to all MSCA members in good standing.
