Dear Colleagues:

We are in receipt of a letter from representatives of the employer, requesting that we return to the bargaining table at the end of October to reconsider the offer of a one-year extension of the day contract. The MSCA (day) bargaining Committee will meet on Friday, October 17th, in Boston to consider this proposal.

We have been notified that the State Colleges will not treat as binding or irrevocable resignations any notices of retirement that members of the faculty and librarians submit to the Colleges in connection with their elections to participate in the current Early Retirement Incentive Program. The state college presidents are concerned in that regard to ensure that the persons in question be at liberty to exercise and secure all of their rights and benefits under the ERIP.
