Dear Colleagues:

Because of the winter storm, Friday's meeting of the MSCA Board of Directors was cancelled. An email/telephone poll concerning approval of the proposal to commence bargaining over distance education, technology issues, and intellectual property rights is being conducted. The Bargaining Committee is scheduled to meet with the employer over these issues four times this month and several times next month.

The Romney administration will release House One (the proposed state budget for FY 2004) on February 26th. The Board of Higher Education will hold a meeting, probably at Framingham State College, on February 27th, to present the Governor's proposed legislation on his "new vision for public higher education" in the state. Coverage of these events will be published in the March issue of the MSCA Perspective.
