Dear Colleagues:

Late Tuesday afternoon I received word that we were able to reconcile the substantial discrepancies in the calculation of the salary pool figures to be used in the determination of merit bonuses for the full-time unit. In the end, management agreed with nearly all of our assertions as to the figures to be used.

It is not clear if the administrative work necessary to implement the merit bonuses in time for the December 6th payroll can be completed over what remains of the Thanksgiving holiday week. Otherwise, the merit bonus payments will be included in the December 22nd payroll.

The membership owes a great debt of gratitude to MTA Consultant Donna Sirutis and MSCA Salary Database Committee Chair C. J. O'Donnell who worked incredible hours over the past three weeks to insure that every single dollar to which the membership was entitled will be paid out exactly as we negotiated it to be. A complete report on this work and the resulting merit payments will be published in the January issue of the MSCA Perspective.
