Dear Colleagues:

At its meeting of October 4th, the MSCA Board of Directors voted to accept the following three motions relevant to the upcoming November elections:

* to support the MTA's recommendation of Shannon O'Brien for Governor and Chris Gabrieli for Lt. Governor;

* to urge members to vote NO on Question #1, the repeal of the state's income tax; and,

* to urge members to vote NO on Question #2, the elimination of the state's bilingual education programs.

The October 2002 issue of the MSCA Perspective will contain more information about the rationale for each of these decisions. Thank you for your support of the Board's actions.
