Dear Colleagues:

On October 16, 2002, the Higher Education Unions United are planning a "Lobbying Day," asking their members to phone their state representatives and senators to encourage their support of the vetoed higher ed contracts and urge them (the House in particular) to do what they can to get Speaker Finneran to bring the House back into session to take up the veto override.

Please take the time to call or email your state representative and senator to urge their support to bring the House (the necessary first step) back into session to take up an override vote on the unfunded contracts for the higher education unions. Thank you.

Support of our colleagues in the Association of Professional Administrators (APA) and AFSCME (clerical and support staff) unions is very important as we ourselves look towards reopening negotiations in January.
