The MSCA Board of Directors has endorsed the Rally to Save Funding for Public Higher Education, scheduled for Thursday, April 25th, at the State House in Boston. The rally begins at noon, with meetings with legislators following, and a 2:00 pm debriefing meeting in Gardner Auditorium. For further information, please contact saveumass@yahoo.com or Dan Clawson, the vice president of the Mass. Society of Professors at UMass, at clawson@sadri.umass.edu. All MSCA members are encouraged to attend this important event.
The State House now has metal detectors and a photo ID is required for entrance. It is strongly recommended that visitors travel "light" - leave back packs and other unnecessary baggage at home.
By now you should have received the latest postcard campaign items from MTA. Sign your cards, put a 21 cent stamp on each one, and mail them ASAP. A follow-up telephone call is important as well. Thanks for your support.
