Dear Colleagues:

A hearing was held on Friday, December 14th, on the governor's proposed Early Retirement Incentive Program (H4767). Gardner Auditorium was packed with supporters and it appears that the bill has a good chance of adoption. Several higher education affiliate presidents and administrators, in addition to Jack Flanngan of the MTA and Cathy Boudreau, MTA Vice President, testified in favor of the bill. My testimony appears elsewhere on the webpage.

Members should urge their local representatives and senators to contact the co-chairs of the Public Service Committee (Senator Joyce and Representative Dempsey) to urge their favorable reporting on the bill out of committee.
