ATTENDANCE:
Members: Burchsted, Farahbakhsh, George, Johnston, Marsella, Matchak, McGee, McHale, Sweeney, Vaughan

1. Meeting Called to Order
The meeting was called to order by Paul McGee, the President, at 11:00 a.m. in the Salem Room, Alumni House, South Campus.

2. Approval of the Minutes
It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes of 04-05:6. The motion passed.

3. President's Report:
Bargaining:
President McGee reviewed what little he could share regarding the MSCA's bargaining activities. The Bargaining Committee continues to meet with management's team. Management's team includes Presidents Antonucci and Mohler-Faria in addition to the other members of the team. Peter Tsaffaris is no longer a member of the team for management. Discussion followed.

BHE Meeting at NSCC:
The BHE will meet at North Shore Community College in April. Additional information will be made available closer to the meeting date.

Minimum Salaries:
President McGee is working with Academic Affairs to run Salem State College faculty and librarians salary data through the minimum salary formula. Information was presented at the last MSCA Board meeting by the MSCA Salary Database Committee that indicated close to 100 Salem librarian/faculty members' salaries fall below the minimum. State college boards of trustees are not willing to approve increases in salaries to meet minimum salaries - outside of the collective bargaining process.

Salem Chapter Office Secretary:
It was moved and seconded to increase the Salem Chapter office secretary's hourly wage to $17.80. The motion passed.

Treasurer's Report:
Treasurer Sweeney presented her report.

Grievance Officer's Report:
Grievance Officer Vaughan presented her report. Included was the fact that eight grievances have been filed since the beginning of this academic year.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:00 noon.
