1. Meeting Called to Order
The meeting was called to order at 11:30 am in HB104 South Campus.

2. Approval of the Minutes
It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes of the October 19, 2005 meeting. The motion passed.

3. President's Report - Paul McGee
College News
Stan Cahill has been promoted to an executive vice president position.

University Status
The Executive Committee had a discussion on the subject of university status and Salem State College.

Governance Referendum
President McGee gave a brief overview of the upcoming Governance Referendum. He reminded all Executive Board members to vote on the Governance Referendum on February 8 and 9.

It was moved and seconded: The Executive Committee recommends strongly that we continue with the current governance structure. The motion passed.

Chapter Dues Increase
There was general discussion regarding the possibility of a $1.00 per paycheck dues increase ($26 total per year, per member) for local dues. Note: the last dues increase was six years ago.

It was moved and seconded that the Executive Committee endorse a dues increase. The amount of the increase would be set once the amount needed is established. The Executive Committee will be polled via email to get an opinion on the increase. This motion is subject to no objectives in the email poll. The motion passed.

Salem Chapter Administrative Assistant
The state-wide administrative assistant hourly pay rate has gone up to $19.12.

It was moved and seconded to increase the MSCA Salem secretary's hourly rate to $19.12. The motion passed.

Treasurer's Report - Shelley Sweeney
Treasurer Sweeney presented her report.
It was moved and seconded to accept the treasurer's report. The motion passed.

New Business
Executive Committee member Steve Matchak initiated a discussion regarding college strategic planning. He suggested that a faculty/librarian committee study what they envision Salem State College to be like in 2020. Discussion followed.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:40 pm.
